New Year's Eve Confusion

How to decide from the list of 1.2 million things that I need to change in my life what should go on the official list of resolutions... Should it be getting up earlier or maybe going to bed earlier? Or maybe getting back to running or doing more planks or any at all or at the least eating fewer cookies? Should it be playing with my kids more, organizing our day more, or undoing the tv habit? Should it be keeping my word more or saying no more or both? Should it be reading the Word every day consistantly or memorizing scripture or making the gospel a living part of our home? Should it be avoiding less all the many things I avoid: laundry, answering the phone, vegetables, dirty and clean dishes, conversation? The list goes on. And on. And the answer is probably all of the above. I'm overwhelmed by all the things I need to tackle and amazed at how adept I've become at making up excuses for why I don't need to. So pick one, or pick them all, or one at a time? 2011 was tough, and I can't say I'm not a little nervous about how I'll do in 2012. I feel pretty confident that I'm thinking about this all wrong, but I'm not sure how exactly to go at it. So I find myself, this New Year's Eve, a little more dazed than determined.
How about that for a bubbly blog entry... now I think I'll go eat some chocolate.

Teepee

Apparently the Native Americans have returned and decided to settle here at Lake Dardanelle State Park. Although I don't blame them (it is lovely here), I don't imagine the hunting is very good.

Picnic and a Run

Beck had to stay home from MDO from a mysterious fever but it's still been a nice day anyway. We had some old OBU friends over for post Chickfila campout breakfast; then mom watched the boys so I could get my run in; then we had a picnic lunch in the front yard :-) Now for a nap!

Biggun

Cooper is wearing Beckett's clothes from last fall. That is ridiculous. 6 month old in 12 month clothes. I can't keep. He is growing like a weed.

Beaten

I give up. Pee wins. Maybe we will try this again when he is five or when I get my sanity back. Whichever comes first. BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging. BlogBooster is a multi-service blog editor for iPhone, Android, WebOs and your desktop

Multutasking daddy

Got home from bunco tonight and found Kevin in the baby's room with one hand rocking Cooper in his bouncy chair with one hand drafting his fantasy football team. Gotta love dads. Confession

I just ate a doughnut and a diet coke for lunch. My toddler drove me to it.

New Hair

Well somehow I managed to delete my last post, so for those of you just joining us I dyed my hair last night. Well actually my fabulous sister in law drove all the way here and stayed late in to the night to dye it. It didn't quite end up blond but maybe thats a good thing:-) It seems that even when I attempt to be extreme I still end up conservative. Once a square always a square:-) Anyway it's still fun to have something new. So here it is - my new brown hair! (I promise it is at least a little lighter. Should have taken a before shot)

It looks as though I should have also asked for an eyebrow trim.

My little houdini

Well I've officially given up on the swaddle. The trusted-overused even- sleep method with Beckett has failed us with baby number two. Cooper is remarkably fast and strong and just flat refuses to stay in. Most of the time we can't get the blanket around him fast enough before he's pulled his little hands up, and the few times I do he wriggles out in a matter of minutes. So today I gave in and let him free. Funny though, now he's free he just wants to play with his fingers and wave his arms all around, in celebration no doubt. Oh well guess its gonna take a few days... BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging. BlogBooster is a multi-service blog editor for iPhone, Android, WebOs and your desktop
