Confession

I just ate a doughnut and a diet coke for lunch. My toddler drove me to it.

New Hair

Well somehow I managed to delete my last post, so for those of you just joining us I dyed my hair last night. Well actually my fabulous sister in law drove all the way here and stayed late in to the night to dye it. It didn't quite end up blond but maybe thats a good thing:-) It seems that even when I attempt to be extreme I still end up conservative. Once a square always a square:-) Anyway it's still fun to have something new. So here it is - my new brown hair! (I promise it is at least a little lighter. Should have taken a before shot)

It looks as though I should have also asked for an eyebrow trim.

My little houdini

Well I've officially given up on the swaddle. The trusted-overused even- sleep method with Beckett has failed us with baby number two. Cooper is remarkably fast and strong and just flat refuses to stay in. Most of the time we can't get the blanket around him fast enough before he's pulled his little hands up, and the few times I do he wriggles out in a matter of minutes. So today I gave in and let him free. Funny though, now he's free he just wants to play with his fingers and wave his arms all around, in celebration no doubt. Oh well guess its gonna take a few days... BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging. BlogBooster is a multi-service blog editor for iPhone, Android, WebOs and your desktop

Sick

Ive been trying to get over a stomach bug the last couple days and now both boys have fevers. This is shaping up to be a fun week. This is the first time we have all been sick so pray for Kevin's sanity and that he stays well :-) BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging. A day

Bad start to a day: driving into the garage door
Better middle of a day: taking the first shower in the "new" bathroom
Best end of a day: refreshing and moving prayer meeting with the girls

All in all not a bad day :-) BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging. BlogBooster is a multi-service blog editor for iPhone, Android, WebOs and your desktop

Whew VBS is a doozy

Had fun today in the two year old vbs zoo! Levi started the morning with a fun game of lets all hide in the cubbies. Then Beckett was scared of worship time (not a good sign if he plans to follow in his dads footsteps) but man you should have seen Carson bust a move. All the kids did surprisingly well during the bible story. Even sleepy Sara perked up to hear about Jesus healing the sick. And Beckett closed us out with a hearty amen during our prayer time. Ty's favorite was walking the dog on a leash which was actually a stuffed rabbit (not sure how that connected with the bible story) and taking his shoes off at every station. During craft time we discovered that Beck apparently LOVES to string beads and hates to use a stamp (that's my son, all mechanical and not the least bit artistic). Madison, however, is both beader extrordinaire and stampaholic. We all had fun counting yellow taxis and singing during our buggy ride (during which time I totally forgot how to sing Jesus loves me, wow). Jace was a trooper and kept up with the big kids marvelously and even volunteered to be the stinky of the day. At the end they all were great helpers cleaning up and just for fun Beckett wrapped up our great morning with a lovely meltdown over the lack of juice. Overall a fun morning. Looking forward to tomorrow...
I think :-) Now for a nap! BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging. BlogBooster is a multi-service blog editor for iPhone, Android, WebOs and your desktop

The Train

I took the boys to see the cool steam train come through town. It went great...or not.

I had no idea it would be so loud. We were standing right by the fence, literally feet away, when it came screaming into the station. Both boys lost it, and really I don't blame them. It was pretty darn scary. I felt pretty bad cause it was all my idea and then cause I was carrying Cooper I couldn't even hold Beckett and make it all ok. Oh well, maybe he won't be too scarred for life. Guess we'll do that differently next year...

Beauty is the other side

"Her words sounded the way all those things made him feel, as if the world, the real world, had been punched through, so that he could see something wonderful and dazzling on the other side of it." -Tiger Rising by Kate DiCamillo

"He makes beautiful things
Out of the dust.
He makes beautiful things
Out of us." -a worship song I heard BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging. BlogBooster is a multi-service blog editor for iPhone, Android, WebOs and your desktop
